Quick Facts: TRM is a joint venture of Tiru (45%), Acciona (45%), and Endesa (10%). The plant has two grate furnace lines with a design throughput of 160,000 tpy of MSW plus a sorting center that can handle 40,000 tpy, all collected in 26 municipalities of the Maresme region in northeast Catalonia. The plant was upgraded in 2002/03 and has ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certification.

Quick Facts: This WTE plant is a partership of Enel Green Power (40%), and FCC, Iberdrola, and Urbaser with 20% shares each. The project derived from a 1990 waste disposal plan for the Balearic Islands culminating in the 1992 award of the WTE project to TIRME. Construction began in Mar 1994 and the two-line plant went into operation in Mar 1997. Throughput is about 300,000 tpy of MSW.

Quick Facts: This WTE plant is a partership of three private companies, Sener, FCC, and Kutxabank, with 65% ownership in total, and three public companies,  Diputación Foral de Bizkaia, EVE, and MMI with a 35% share. The unique Sener design uses GT exhause to superheat the incinerator system steam. MSW is obtained from over 100 municipalities in Bizkaia with about 700,000 inhabitants. This refuse is supplemented by rejects from separation and recycling companies. Waste throughput in 2012 was 224,000t.
