Quick facts: This wind park is in Palo Alto Co and each turbine is individually owned by 10 farmer-owners. They also formed Crosswind Transmission LLC, to own and operate the associated T&D infrastructure to interconnect with Corn Belt Power Coop’s 69kV transmission line at Ayrshire Substation. A 10yr arrangement was made with Edison Mission for plant O&M. The project was made possible, in part, by $250,000 in Section 9006 guaranteed loan funds, $302,125 in USDA Value-Added Producer Grant technical assistance funds, and $2.3mn in Section 9006 grants.

Quick facts: This project is located on 6,400ac of rolling farm land in northwestern Iowa. The turbines are on 250ft towers. The project also included a 69kV substation, 5mi of access roads, and 18mi of undergound distribution.
