Quick facts:This €2.8bn project in the North Sea has a fixed-price, 15yr PPA with the Dutch government and a 15yr O&M contract with Siemens. The partners are Northland Power (60%), Siemens (20%), Van Oord (10%), and HVC (10%). Two close-by sites are used, these are termed Buitengaats and Zee-energie.They are is 85km north of the Dutch coast. Financial close was in May 2014. The last turbine was installed in Aug 2016. Production is expeced to be about 2.6 TWh/yr. The total weight of the heaviest turbines is 1,347t.

Quick facts:The Lely wind farm in the IJsselmeer is 0.6km from the port of Medemblik. In Dec 2014, one of the rotor heads fell off the tower due to metal fatigue. Although the other machines were not found to be in similar condition, the decision was made to decommission the facility. The dismantling process began in mid-Sep 2016.

Quick facts:This is one of the largest Dutch onshore windfarms. During development and construction, the poject was known as Zuidlob. It was renamed after inaguuration in Sep 2013. Development by local landowners and local government began in 1988. The scheme was formalized in 2005, construction agreed in 2008, and Nuon purchased the project in Oct 2011, agreeing to pay fixed compentasion to landowners for 20yrs. Construction took 17mos and cost SEK 1.4bn. The plant connects to a 150kV substation.

Quick facts: Windpark Q7 is a joint project of Econcern, Energy Investments Holding and ENECO Energie located in 19-24m of water 23km offshore from IJmuiden in block Q7 of the Dutch continental shelf.At completion, it was the furtherst offshore of any wind park in the world. The 4m diameter foundations are 54m and weigh 320t. These are topped by 115t transition pieces. The 520t offshore transformer was manufactured by Bladt and ABB in Denmark. The WTGs are tied to the substation by 22kV sea cables and a 150kV subsea cable connects to the mainland. The plant was officially opened on 4 Jun 2008 and renamed Princess Amalia. Annual power production is expected to be 435 GWh. Financing was by Dexia, Rabobank, and BNP Paribas.

Quick facts: These are upgraded E-82 machines with additional cooling to allow for higher output. Preparations began at the end of 2006 for what will be the largest onshore windfarm in Holland. The first two machines were connected to the grid at the end of Jul 2008. The former Eemshaven and Eemsmond wind plants are being dismantled to make way for the new equipment.

Quick facts: This near-offshore WPP was officially opened on 21 Jun 2016 by the minister of economic affairs Henk Kamp and the project initiators, Tjitte de Groot and Peter Meulendijks. 99% of the output is bought by the Dutch Railways via Eneco. This is part of a larger complex, called Noordoostpolder Wind Farm. Westermeerwind is in the IJsselmeer, 700 to 1,200m from the Noordermeer dike and Westermeer dike in the Noordoostpolder.

Quick facts: This was the launch 2.75-103 wind turbine and was commissioned in early 2011 at the ECN wind farm in Wieringermeer near Ijsselmeer. The new machine has electrical system uprates and 50.2m proprietary blade design that offers an annual energy production increase of more than nine percent at 7.5 m/s over the 2.5-100 machine.
