Quick facts: This is the largest power station in Turkmenistan by far and supplies up to 70% of the country's electricity. The site is on the Karakum Canal, 10km south of Mary city. In Dec 2004, PMG signed the first of a series of contracts to upgrade the T/G sets at Mary. The first unit rehab was completed in Apr 2006.

Quick facts: This TPP is one of two in Tajikistan and was originally put into operation to serve the Yavan electrochemical plant and for local heating and power service. Thermal capacity was 568.4 Gcal/hr. Gas was supplied from Turkmenisan through Uzbekistan but has been in short supply. One of the uits is deactivated and the other two are inoperative due to lack of fuel.
