Quick facts: Kozienice on the Vistula River is Poland's second largest power plant. Output varies between 8 and 11 TWh/yr. The boilers, turbines, generators and air pollution control equipment have been progressively upgraded from 1988-2001. The larger stack is 300m high. Kozienice became part of Enea SA in Oct 2007.

Quick facts: In Aug 2008, Enea established Kozienice II Sp zoo as an SPV to build a 1,000 MW, PLN 4.8bn extension at Kozienice. Enea began preparations in late Dec 2008 by hiring a geotechnical consultant and a demolition contractor to work on the properly . However, it was not until Mar 2010 that the company tendered for the first unit. The €1.5bn BTG contract was signed with Hitachi Power Europe GmbH in Sep 2012 and the foundation stone was laid on 21 Nov 2012. All the major components will be monitored and controlled with Emerson Process Management's Ovation DCS.

Quick facts: Plant development began in 1949, but construction did not get underway until 1958. In 1961, the plant went online and began to supply electricity and heat to the southern part of Warsaw and the plant was extensively modernized in the late 1990s. Total is capacity is 620 MWe and 2,014 MWt. The stack is 200m tall.
