Quick facts: From 1985 to 1989, Shandong Intl Power Dev completed the first phase of the Zouxian PS in Xuexcheng City with two pairs of 300-MW coal-fired units. Two 600-MW units commissioned in 1997 and in Jul 2004, main equipment contracts were awarded by Huadian Power for Zouxian 7&8, two 1,000-MW USC generating units. The first unit completed its 168hr run on 4 Dec 2006 about 9mos ahead of schedule and the second followed in Jun 2007. The extension was officially commissioned in Jul 2007, making Zouxian one of the largest power stations in China.
