Quick facts: Construction at Qitaihe Phase-I began in Nov 1997. The two units cost 4.27bn yuan and were partially funded by an ABD loan. Phase-II cost 4.7nn yuan. Unit-3 commissioned on 24 Aug 2008 and Unit-4 in Dec 2008. The second-phase stack is 240m tall.

Jixi-1 No 8&9

Quick facts: This power station is in Didao distict, Jixi City, and it was founded in 1938. Rebuilding began in 1949 and after four expansion projects capacity reached 192 MW. These units have been retired. Work started on a pair of 125-MW sets in 2000 and these came online at the end of 2002. Both units were retrofit with FGD scrubbers.

Preparatory work began in Sep 2004, NDRC approval was in May 2009, and full construction began in Jun 2009. Unit-1 completed its trial operation on 25 Jun 2011. The total approved investment was CNY 282,052mn.

Quick facts: In Jul 2007, China Huadian published the feasibility study for a 600-MW replacement for the Mudanjiang No 2 CHP plant in Mudanjiang City. The work was done by China International Engineering Consulting, CHEC, and Northeast Electric Power Design Institute. Construction began in Jul 2008 and official NDRC approval was received in Dec 2008. Harbin was the BTG supplier for two 300-MW subcritical sets and these commissioned in Dec 2010, and Jan 2011, respectively. At that time, four 100-MW units built from 1981-1985 were closed.
