Quick facts: Anhui Bengbu was approved by NDRC in Mar 2007. The site is on the Huaihe River 38km from Bengbu's urban area. The supercritical power station cost 4.32bn yuan and is a joint investment of China Guodian (55%), Anhui Province Energy Group (35%), and Bengbu Construction Investment (10%). Unit-1 went commercial on 30 Dec 2008 after 19mos and 5 days of construction followed by Unit-2 on 20 Apr 2009.

Chizhou had the first FGD scrubbers in the province.

Quick facts: In Sep 2006, construction began at the Fengtai power station on the Huai River in Huainan City. The supercritical project is a 50:50 JV of Zhejiang Energy Group and Huainan Mining Group and is a cooperative coal-by-wire venture based on Anhui's Huainan coalfield, which has about 300bn tons of coal and is the nearest big coalfield to Zhejiang. The first 1,200-MW phase of the Fengtai project was built near the Gubei Coal Mine, which will supply 6mn tpy of fuel. Unit-2 went commercial in Sep 2008, thereby completing Phase-I.

Quick facts: This thermal power station was founded in 1982. It is connected to the local 500- and 220kV grids and is a key power station on the East China Power Grid. The four 300-MW sets went online on 31 Dec 1985, 7 Oct 1986, 6 Sep 1998, and 2 Feb 1999, respectively. The boilers for units 1&2 were rebuilt . The job finished in 2002 and the units were uprated to 320 MW. An extension was approved on 30 Nov 2007 and two 630-MW supercritical sets commissioned on 5 Feb 2010. These are jointly-invested with Anhui Energy Group (46%), and Huainan City (1.2%). A 1,000-MW USC unit is in planning for the site.
