Quick facts: Energia Pecém comprises two 360-MW units and is a 50:50 JV of MPX and EDP. In Mar 2009, IDB approved a financing package for the first two sets and in May 2009, approved a R$1.4bn loan. Construction began in July 2008. The third unit is 100% owned by MPX. The two phases sold into the A-5 energy auctions held in Oct 2007 and Sep 2008, respectively.
