Power Plants on Currency
Afsin Elbistan-A
The 1990-issue Turkish 5,000 lira bank note featured Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the front side and the 1,360-MW Afsin Elbistan-A power station on the back side. The minemouth lignite power plant is in Kahramanmaras province. Its four units came online from 1984-1987.

Constitucion (Palmar)
This silver N$500 coint was issued by Uruguay in 1983 on the the first anniversary of the operation of the new Constitucion Dam and 300-MW HPP on the Rio Negro in Paso del Palmar, Soriano. The dam completed in 1982 and was named 9 de Febrero de 1973 by the then-ruling military junta to commemorate their coming to power. It was later renamed.

Hirakud Dam
The Hirakud Dam is in Rajasthan on the River Mahanadi, 15km upstream of Sambalpur town and was the first post-independence major multi purpose river valley project in the country. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone in 1948 and first phase commissioned in 1956. This Indian Rs100 note was issued in Dec 1960.

Kaleta Dam
In 2015, the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea introduced a 20,000-franc banknote bearing the image of the 234-MW Kaleta HPP.

Krasnoyarsk Dam
The back of the 1997 Russian 10-ruble banknote features the 6,000-MW Kranoyarsk HPP on the Yensei River in Krasnoyarsk Krai. The plant commissioned from 1967-1971. The banknote was re-issued in 2004.

Tabqa Dam
The back of this Syrian 500-pound note portrays the 840-MW Tabqa Dam which commissioned from 1974-1978. The banknote was issued in 1998.

Tri An Dam
This 5000 VND banknote was issued on 15 Jan 1993 by the State Bank of Vietnam. The obverse shows the 400-MW Tri An Dam and HPP built in 1988/89 by EVN in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province.
