Quick facts: This LFG power project is a JV of Asja Brazil and Limpebrás, the local landfill owner. The landfill routinely received about 600 tpd of waste from the Uberlândia metro area, which has about 650,000 inhabitants and is the second largest city in the state. In total, about 2.1mn tons of waste were deposited in the landfill which was closed ca 2011.

Suape-II

Quick facts: The €200mn turnkey contract for Suape-II was signed in May 2010, excavation began in Jan 2010, and full construction started in Aug 2010. This is the largest power station yet built by Wartsila. The engines are located in three powerhouses, each measuring 57m by 33m. Two of the engine halls house six engines while a third building contains the remaining five.The facility went into operation at the end of Dec 2011 and Wartsila secured a 3yr O&M agreement for the project in Mar 2012. It will operated at intermediate-load. The operating company is jointly-owned by Petrobras and CIBE Participação SA. The site is in Suape, Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Pernambuco.
