Quick facts: Lea Power went commercial in Sep 2008 after 16mos of construction. The project is near the Xcel Energy Cunningham and Maddox power stations and Xcel has a long-term PPA for project output. In Mar 2012, it was announed that Lea Power Partners was being sold to FREIF North American Power I, majority-owned by First Reserve Corp. Lea Power was an SPV owned by ArcLight Energy Partners Fund III LP, that took over the project from original developers Genova Power Solutions LLC and Colorado Energy Management. The plant was built with gray market components from abandoned power projects in Mississippi (steam set and HRSGs) and Tennessee (GTs).

Quick facts: Luna Energy is owned by Phelps Dodge, PNM Resources, and Tucson Electric. The plant has dry low-Nox combustors and SCR.  It is connected to the grid at 245kV. The plant was originally developed by Duke Energy and construction got underway in Sep 2002.  Work was suspended at about 50% completion and the current owners bought the project in Nov 2004.
