Quick facts: This gas-by-wire plant near Guayaquil iwas developed by Noble Energy and fueled by gas from the Amistad offshore gas field.. The 14.5ha site is in Baja Alto, about 2km from the coast, and is connected to the gas production works by a 70km pipeline. A 14km transmission line connects to Transelectricís 138kV line Milagro-Machala. The gas turbines were ordered in Jun 2000. In May 2011, the project reverted to the government.
