Quick facts: In June 2013, Bulleh Shah Packaging signed an EPC contract with Runh Power Group for a biomass boiler to repower an existing 41-MW steam T/G set at its 125ac paper mill complex in Kasur district, Punjab. Under a licensing agreement, B&W Volund supplied engineering and technology for the boiler. Construction began during spring of 2014, first steam was supplied in Nov 2015, and the boiler was handed over in Fer 2016.

Quick facts: In July 2006, Chubu Electric Power Co said it was investing in two new biopower projects in Sabah with Go Bio Sdn Bhd, SMEC Energy Sdn Bhd, and Agritech Marketing Co Ltd. Local AmBank provided debt finance for the projects, which each cost about $24mn. Fuel is POW and the projects have PPAs with Sabah Electricity delivered. Kina, the first of the two projects to complete, is connected to the Sabah Main Intake Substation in Sandaklan through a 0.5km transmission line.

Quick facts: This plant is in Brgy Tulat, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija and was put up by 20 local rice millers in joint venture with Union Energy Corp, owned by businessman Lucio Co. It has a 6ha site and will burn up to 300 tpd of husk. The cost was about P1bn.
